This Cookie Policy explains how GMB Profile Solutions uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences and to provide information to website owners. Similar technologies, such as browser storage (for example sessionStorage and localStorage) and tracking pixels, work in comparable ways. In this policy we refer to all of these as cookies.

2. The law on cookies

In the UK, the use of cookies is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR. Under PECR, we can set cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to work, or to remember a choice you have made, without asking. For all other cookies, such as analytics and marketing cookies, we must ask for your consent first. We do not set these optional cookies unless you choose to allow them.

3. The cookies we use

Strictly necessary

These are needed for the website to work as you would expect and cannot be switched off in our cookie banner.

• gmb_consent: remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask you on every page. Set by us. Expires after 6 months, after which we will ask again.

Session storage for the enquiry form

When you arrive on our website from a link that contains campaign details, such as UTM parameters or advertising click identifiers (gclid or fbclid), or from another website, we may temporarily store those details, together with your landing page and referrer, in your browser’s sessionStorage. This lets us attach them to our case review form if you decide to send us an enquiry during the same visit. This information stays on your device, is not shared with anyone unless you submit the form, and is cleared automatically when you close the browser tab or window. It is only sent to us as part of a form you choose to submit. How we use that data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Analytics cookies (optional)

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use our website, for example which pages are visited and how people arrive. This helps us improve our content and make the site easier to use. Google Analytics sets cookies with names beginning _ga, which typically last up to 2 years. The information is collected in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally. These cookies are only set after you accept analytics cookies.

Marketing cookies (optional)

With your consent, we use the Meta Pixel (provided by Meta Platforms, the company behind Facebook and Instagram) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and, where applicable, to show relevant adverts to people who have visited our website. The Meta Pixel may set cookies such as _fbp, which typically lasts around 3 months. We may also use Google advertising features to measure conversions from our Google Ads campaigns. These cookies are only set after you accept marketing cookies.

Third party providers may change the names and durations of their cookies from time to time. For the latest details, please refer to the privacy information published by Google and Meta.

4. Your choices

When you first visit our website, we show a cookie banner asking whether you accept or reject optional cookies. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the website will work normally either way. If you reject, we will only use the strictly necessary cookie and the session storage described above.

Changing your mind

You can change your choices at any time by clicking the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. This reopens the cookie banner so you can update your preferences. If you withdraw consent, we will stop setting optional cookies from that point. Cookies already placed may remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.

Browser settings

You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third party cookies or clear cookies when you close the browser. Blocking all cookies may mean our website cannot remember your cookie choice. Guidance is usually available in your browser’s help section.

5. Data shared with third parties

Where you consent to analytics or marketing cookies, information about your use of our website is sent to Google and Meta, who may process it outside the United Kingdom. More information about how we handle international transfers is set out in our Privacy Policy.
